home in hedgerows
zine
"This zine was born during a limbo in-between moving cities, in which I lived at my childhood home in Lincolnshire. I found comfort and stability in the routines of wildlife around me, to whom I dedicate this poem. I complimented my words with a concertina of watercolour illustrations."
The poem reads:
"I make my home
hidden in hedgerows
Build a bed of brambles
beside the snails and the toads.
I forfeit my comforts
Paint dirt under my nails
As I listen to the Night
While she teaches tall tales
Beasts line branches
none burdens nor fiends
For I have found my fortune
in the inbetween
And when I no longer
See the trees for the forest
I will follow my nose
somewhere I can be honest."
